Since 2000, Mie Prefectural Art Museum has organized exhibitions in the Gallery, featuring artists of middle standing, who have something to do with Mie Prefecture. This year, we present you recent works by Akioka Miho (1952- ) who was born in Hyogo prefecture and lives in Mie Prefecture. Akioka Miho was born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1952. She developed her acitivities since the latter half of 1970's. At first she photographs some tree or shade of tree. At that time she never eliminates traces of action of her hand, arm and body. Secondly she prints images on japanese paper through NECO(New Enlarging Color Operation). Then there appears oscillating time-space which works upon not only viewer's sight but also all of five senses. |
