Exhibition Overview
Whenever we look at a work of art, we are physically distant from it. What can we do to “access” art despite the distance?
Inspired by education programs for people with disabilities, Making Art Accessible encourages visitors to experience multisensory appreciation for exhibits and to use their imagination in order to integrate the senses.
This exhibition shows tactile tools, audio guides and a social narrative that were originally created for people with disabilities as well as nearly 50 works including paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings from the collection of the Mie Prefectural Art Museum. Visitors are welcomed to touch several sculptures.
