Highlights of the ExhibitionSoga Shohaku (1730-1781) is now well-known as one of the eccentric painter in the Mid-Edo period. His highly original paintings fascinate people in the country and abroad timelessly. This exhibition provides an opportunity to view the masterpieces of Soga Shohaku and other painters in Kyoto such as Maruyama Okyo and Ito Jakuchu. The current exhibition contains some Important Cultural Properties including 'Formerly on the sliding doors in the Nagashima household', just have finished restoration in recent years. |
